​Shagaloo Chairs

 

Re-Purpose project created with fellow designer Matt Blunt while at the Massachusetts College of Art + Design.   We were tasked to create a new object from the discarded shells of the original Vessel brand Candeloo light. The original form of the light (a snail) was full of subtle character, by  covering the seat and back of the chair with these protruding nubs, we transferred the element

of character to the chairs.  Creating

an enticing yet apprehensive environment from an otherwise

familiar and comfortable school

desk chair.

Chairs were exhibited at MassArt

and the Boston Starr exhibition.
