​T-Shirt Collage

 

Birthed from repeated T-Shirt Scarf production, the collage of color and imagery from collected T's becomes

a wall hanging,  a decorative map of worn history, framed in a drawer as the original materials might be found. Taking advantage of the non-need for function, the work here is more expressive and loose than what goes into the scarves.  

So much more than an article of clothing, the T-Shirt is an icon, offers comfort, produces a memory, conveys a message which sparks a conversation or invites understanding, and is worn for every situation from snuggling to body armor... this object is huge! ...and plentiful - - overstuffing our drawers and thrift stores - so i collect, clean, break down, re-organize and collage these moments of nostalgia.
